Two days offer two ways to experience Ocean Racing. On Saturday 19 October, the course between the Bay of Silence and Chiavari awards the Junior, Under 23 and Senior Italian titles, while Masters compete in the international race.
Leonardo Candela wins the international men’s event in 47'51.5, ahead of Massimo Palomba and Riccardo Maccioccu. Beatrice Candela takes the women’s race in 58'17.0, followed by Carlotta Tortello and Nikki Pregliasco.
From long distance to a course in the bay
On Sunday, the action moves to the Bay of Fables. Allievi and Cadetti athletes race around a five-hundred-metre course in surfskis provided by the Federation: a short event, close to spectators and designed to introduce the discipline from the water.
The 2024 Tigullio Challenge closes a weekend combining national titles, international competition and development, strengthening the relationship between the event and local clubs.
