The first major storm of autumn changes the schedule, but it does not stop the race. The national event planned for Saturday 21 October is postponed by twenty-four hours; on Sunday, sunshine, wind and waves provide the right conditions for a technical and spectacular challenge.
More than ninety crews from eleven Italian regions take on fifteen kilometres of open water. The start and finish in the Bay of Fables frame a day where competition meets technical stands, spectators and activities on the beach.
A home victory
Shock Wave Sports athlete Nicolò Razeto takes the overall win as well as victory in the men’s single. Chiara Agostinetti of Unione Canottieri Livornesi wins the women’s Master A race.
The entire Junior podium belongs to Sestri Levante: Matteo Muzio finishes ahead of Riccardo Maccioccu and Matteo Bottini. It is the clearest sign of a first edition that combines national competition with the sporting work carried out on the coast every day.
“A first edition we will hardly forget: the sunshine, waves and wind were on our side.”View all photos
